Carver Announcements for Nov 27

Hello Carver Families!

We hope you had a great break and weekend. This email is intended to keep parents updated on reminders, upcoming activities, and announcements. Be sure to let the office know if you change your email address. Be sure to check Carver's webpage for updated daily announcements.

1.        Carver’s winter dance is Friday, December 1. Students planning to attend must have a signed permission form and $5.00 in order to attend the dance—permission forms were handed out today. Students not meeting the guidelines for behaviors and citizenship will not be eligible to attend the dance. Please refer to your child’s permission slip for details or have your child ask in the office about questions on eligibility.

2.        Mid-Quarter is here! Mid-quarter progress reports are available. Please be sure to check mid-quarter grades online this week as Carver has gone paperless with mid-quarter progress reports and grade cards. Call or email would like a printed copy. To access mid-quarter progress reports, use the directions below:
·       Log on to the home access district website:
https://homeaccess.sps.org/homeaccess/
·       Enter your user ID and case sensitive password. If you do not remember your password, please obtain a handout with your home access password from school.
·       If you have not logged in before, you will be asked to create two security challenge questions before proceeding. Please create the questions and supply the answers.
·       Click the IPR GRADES at the top, center of the page.
·       Click on Report Card or Progress Report.

3.        Please join Carver PTSA! Carver PTSA will host an annual potluck for the December meeting for PTSA members in the cafĂ© on December 11 at 6:15 pm! If you need more information, please contact PTSA via email at CarverPTSA@outlook.com or on facebook at Carver PTSA.

4.        Basketball season has started! Games start at 5:30 pm. If your middle school student plans to attend without you to supervise them during the game, they must have a ride at Carver by 8 pm. If the game runs late, the ride may come in at 8 pm and sit in the stands for free. Elementary students are expected to have an adult with them at all Carver games. SPARC offers a game day pass with tutoring, face-painting, and food on game days for students from 2:45 pm until the start of the game. Contact Erin Boschen at 874-2410 or eboschen@springfieldmo.gov or see the Carver announcements on the webpage for more information. 

5.        Carver students are collecting gently used books to donate to elementary students in need of books. If you have books you are willing to donate, please send them with your child to the office.

6.        Carver students have the opportunity to visit Washington, D.C. during spring break through WorldStride Discoveries Organization. For more information, email David Rice at djrice@spsmail.org.

Carver Announcements for Nov 20

Hello Carver Families!

We hope you had a great weekend and are looking forward to the Thanksgiving Holiday break. This email is intended to keep parents updated on reminders, upcoming activities, and announcements. 1.        Carver school pictures were sent home today. If you ordered pictures and did not receive them today, please call: (314) 567-5900 or visit WagnerPortraitGroup.com for information.

2.        Picture retakes will be Monday, November 27. To order online or view the flyer for types of packages offered, visit WagnerPortraitGroup.com and use CarverMS as the log-in. If you have any trouble ordering, please call (314) 567-5900 or (217) 454-5725 for help with online ordering.

3.        Mid-Quarter is here! Mid-quarter progress reports were posted this weekend.

As of 1 pm today, SPS was having trouble with IPR (mid-quarter progress reporting system) district-wide. The district IT department is working on fixing the situation this evening. The IT department expects to have this resolved for the district soon.

2.      Thank you to all our families for participating in our Veteran’s Day assembly! Click here if you would like to view our slide presentation on google slides. (There are 180 slides, so it may take a minute to load.)

4.     Carver PTSA Fall Scholastic Book Fair begins November 13 – 17! It will be open from 8:00 am -3:30 pm, and Friday from 8:00 am -11:45 am. You are welcome to come check it out, and make sure your kids plan to visit too!

2.      Flu Clinic is coming to Carver on November 8 at 8:30 am. If you would like your child to receive the flu shot, please sign and return this consent form to Carver or contact Nurse Sadler for more information.

3.     Carver Veteran’s Day assembly will be on November 10 at 8:30 am. All families are welcome to attend.
·       If you have a family member currently in the military or is a veteran, please submit a picture for the assembly. You can reply with an emailed copy of the photo or send a photo to the office. We will get the photo back to you after scanning it.
·       We have reserved seating at the assembly for veterans or those currently serving and their families. Please let us know if you can attend the assembly and we will escort you to your reserved seating.
·       The PTSA Book Fair (located in Carver library) begins November 13 – 17, but will be open immediately after the assembly for parents and guardians.

4.     Carver students are collecting gently used books to donate to elementary students in need of books. If you have books you are willing to donate, please send them with your child to the office.

5.     No school on November 6 and 7.  SPARC is offering a program designed for middle school students if you need care for your student. Contact Erin Boschen at 874-2410 or eboschen@springfieldmo.gov or click here for more information.
