Carver Announcements for May 21

Hello Carver Families!

The last day of school is tomorrow! We look forward to celebrating the end of school with your student. Please make sure to update your address, phone number, and email with the office with any changes over the summer in order to keep updated on reminders, upcoming activities, and announcements when school resumes.

This summer, the back-to-school news will be sent via email and mail in mid-July announcing the dates for schedule pick-up and open house. You can also check Carver's webpage for updated announcements in July.

1.        Grade cards will only be accessible online after May 24th.  Call or email if you would like a printed copy or assistance with checking grades. To access grade cards, use the directions below:
·       Log on to the home access district website:
https://homeaccess.sps.org/homeaccess/
·       Enter your user ID and case sensitive password. If you do not remember your password, please obtain a handout with your home access password from school.
·       If you have not logged in before, you will be asked to create two security challenge questions before proceeding. Please create the questions and supply the answers.
·       Click the IPR GRADES at the top, center of the page.
·       Click on Report Card.
·       MP1 stands for Marking Period 1 (1st quarter), MP2 stands for Marking Period 2, MP3 is for Marking Period 3 (3rd quarter), MP4 is 4th quarter.

2.        Carver PTSA has an 8th grade celebration planned from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm at the Musgrave Boys and Girls Club. Only 8th graders at Carver are allowed to attend the celebration with a guardian signed permission form. Carver PTSA is looking for parent volunteers to help chaperone the event. If you need information about chaperoning, please call the office or visit Carver PTSA facebook.

3.        There is a 2-hour early release on the last day of school. School is dismissed on Tuesday, May 22, at 12:45 pm! Please be sure to arrange transportation for your student at 12:45 pm tomorrow.

4.        Carver PTSA voted for offices at the May 14 meeting in the library at Carver. The office of secretary is still open. If you are interested in being PTSA secretary or would like more information on joining PTSA for next year, please contact PTSA via email at CarverPTSA@outlook.com.

5.        Chromebooks, chargers, and cases were turned in today during 3rd block. Any chromebook, charger, and case not retuned to Carver will be fined to the student account on May 23. Fees for chromebooks are $150. Please return the items listed to the main Carver office (not summer school office) as soon as possible to avoid a fee. Carver students enrolled in summer school will be issued a different chromebook on the first day of summer school and will not use their Carver regular school issued chromebook. The chromebook issued during the school year will not be used at summer school. Please be sure to return the Carver issued chromebook to the main office.

6.        Please make sure to contact Nurse Nancy to pick up all medications prior to May 22 at 11 am. Per Springfield public school medication policy, school nurses are not permitted to send unused medication home with students, it is necessary for an adult to pick up all medications. All unclaimed medication will be discarded on May 22, 2018 at 11:00 am.

7.        You can still purchase a yearbook in the office for $18.

8.        Summer School EXPLORE program is now accepting summer school enrollment. Click here to enroll.

9.        Want to stay connected to the weekly announcements using Remind texting? If so, text @1carver to 81010 to get these announcements weekly. The announcements can also be found on Carver’s Twitter and Facebook pages.

10.     Recognizing your child’s teacher or SPS employee is easy! Click on the link here  or find the form on the SPS website!

Have a great week!
