Carver Families!
We
hope you had a great weekend! This email is intended to keep parents updated on
reminders, upcoming activities, and announcements. Be sure to let the office
know if you change your email address. Be sure to check Carver's webpage for
updated daily announcements.
1.
Grade
cards were posted on January 5th.
Please be sure to check grades online as Carver has gone paperless with
mid-quarter reports and grade cards. Call
or email if you would like a printed copy. To access grade cards and mid-quarter
progress reports, use the directions below:
· Log
on to the home access district website:
https://homeaccess.sps.org/homeaccess/
· Enter
your user ID and case sensitive password. If you do not remember your password,
please obtain a handout with your home access password from school.
· If
you have not logged in before, you will be asked to create two security
challenge questions before proceeding. Please create the questions and supply
the answers.
· Click
the IPR GRADES at the top, center of the page.
· Click
on Report Card or Progress Report.
· MP1
stands for Marking Period 1 (1st quarter) and MP2 stands for Marking Period 2 (2nd
quarter).
2.
Breakfast in the Classroom (BIC) is coming to
Carver! All students enrolled at
Carver will be able to eat a school breakfast each morning for free. Click
here for information about Breakfast in the Classroom Benefits.
Breakfast in the Classroom (BIC) will be available at Carver from 7:55 am –
8:14 am for each student in their Advisory/Homeroom classroom. Nutrition
services believes they will be ready to begin this program on January 16. Once
the date is finalized, an alert now will be sent. An informational
flyer (found here) will be sent home this week with your
student. Information about Breakfast in the Classroom (BIC) will also be
available at the PTSA meeting on 1/8/18 at 6:15 pm.

No school on January 15. SPARC is offering a
program designed for middle school students if you need care for your student. Sign
up online at ParkBoard.org/SPARC, via email at eboschen@springfieldmo.gov, or
call 837-5737. Click here

The next PTSA meeting is February 12 at
6:15 pm in the library. Come join us
in the library for the meeting and get personalized help from SPS staff for
tips on checking Canvas and eSchool. If you need more information about

Carver PTSA page on facebook.
5.
Carver PTSA will be collecting Boxtops
beginning January 3 to March 1 as a fundraiser. Please help support us by
donating boxtops to your student’s favorite teacher. The teacher in the contest
with the most boxtops wins a wonderful Pie-in-the-Face! J More
information will be available January 8.
6.
Sports physicals will be offered again
through Trudi’s Kids on the following dates: February 20, February 21, March
27, and May 3. If your student will need a sport physical for the late spring
or fall, please call 523-6800 (school office) or 523-6830 (school nurse) for
details. Click

7.
We will have construction in the offices and
main hall outside the offices from December 12 to January 16 to replace the
HVAC system. During construction, the offices will be relocated to the back
side of the stage (room 104) in the cafeteria. The main entrance to the
building will not be impacted. The main hall will be accessible during school
hours from 6 am – 4 pm.
8.
Want to stay connected to the weekly

announcements weekly. The announcements can also be found on Carver’s Twitter
and Facebook pages.
9.
Carver students have the opportunity to visit
Washington, D.C. during spring break through WorldStride Discoveries
