We
hope you had a great weekend! This email is intended to keep parents updated on
reminders, upcoming activities, and announcements. Be sure to let the office
know if you change your email address. Be sure to check Carver's
webpage for updated daily announcements.
1.
Breakfast in the Classroom (BIC) has started
at Carver! All students enrolled
at Carver will be able to eat a school breakfast each morning for free. Click

Breakfast in the Classroom (BIC) will be available at Carver from 7:55 am –
8:14 am for each student in their Advisory/Homeroom classroom.
2.
The next PTSA meeting is February 12 at
6:15 pm in the library. Come join us
in the library for the meeting and get personalized help from SPS staff for
tips on checking Canvas and eSchool. If

3.
Carver PTSA will be collecting Boxtops
beginning January 3 to March 1 as a fundraiser. Please help support us by
donating boxtops to your student’s favorite teacher during lunch. A teacher in
the contest with the most boxtops wins a wonderful Pie-in-the-Face! J
4. Did you know one in four kids in the Ozarks
struggle with hunger? Carver Middle School is partnering with Ozark Food
Harvest to help fight hunger in our community. Please consider donating
food and/or funds to help our community fight hunger!

Example food items students and families can donate: Canned
goods, box
dinners, peanut butter, crackers, pasta, etc.
Students can participate in the
#FoodFight2018 #HungerHeroes dress up activities at Carver by bringing 4 food items for donation per day or $2 per
day to participate:
The activities are:
Thursday, January 25 – Hat Day (Bring 4 canned items or $2 to wear your favorite hat.)
Friday, January 26 – Super Hero Day (Bring 4 canned items or $2 and dress like a super hero! No slippers allowed and must be school appropriate attire.)
Monday, January 29 – School Spirit Day (Bring 4 canned items or $2 and show your school spirit! No slippers allowed and must be school appropriate.)
Tuesday, January 30 – Dress like your future career/Twin Day/Dress like a Teacher or Principal Day (Bring 4 canned items or $2 and dress up! No slippers allowed and must be school appropriate.)
Wednesday, January 31 – Dress as your Favorite Food Day (Bring 4 food items or $2 to dress like your favorite food! No slippers allowed and must be school appropriate.)
6.
PTSA Dodgeball Fundraiser Tournament is returning
to Carver on February 16 at 5:30 pm. There will be two tournament brackets this
year: Students and Adults. Parents and older siblings are welcome to
participate in the adult bracket. All participants must complete a flyer team
form and signed waiver. Click

7.
Boys Basketball season has started! Games
start at 5:30 pm. If your middle school student plans to attend without you to
supervise them during the game, they
must have a ride at Carver by 8 pm to be able to attend future games. If the game runs late, the
ride may come in at 8 pm and sit in the stands for free. Elementary students
are expected to have an adult with them at all Carver games. SPARC offers a
game day pass with tutoring, face-painting, and food on game days for students
from 2:45 pm until the start of the game. Contact Tasia Kinney at 874-2412

8.
Sports physicals will be offered again
through Trudi’s Kids on the following dates: February 20, February 21, March
27, and May 3. If your student will need a sport physical for the late spring
or fall, please call 523-6800 (school office) or 523-6830 (school nurse) for
details. Click

9.
