Mission. Carver’s National Junior Honor Society is sponsoring a drive to help the
Victory Mission, a local non-profit organization, as the Mission strives to
meet the needs of the homeless in our community. Please consider helping our
NJHS students raise items to support our community by donating new travel-size toiletries and gently used clothing.
All items can be dropped off at the main office from Oct 21 - Nov 1.

The secure entrance construction on Carver’s
main front entrance resumed on September 30. The estimated completion date is for October 25. During
this portion of the secure entrance construction from September 30 – October
25, the main entrance will not be open to students, parents, or faculty. The temporary main entrance will
be on located at door #4 on the EAST side of the building near the locker rooms
and orchestra room. SPS installed a buzz-in and camera system to
secure door #4 for entry into the building during construction. Parents will still
use the existing drop off and pick up car line for morning and afternoon car
line. After drop off in the morning, students will walk past the awning in the
main entrance along the sidewalk to enter door #4. At the end of the day,
students will exit door #4 and walk to the car line.
6.

NEED SOME HELP WITH HOMEWORK? After school
tutoring is available through the Springfield Park Board, Monday-Thursday,
2:50-3:50 p.m. Sessions are September 16 through October 31 and November 4
through December 19 for $35 per session. Scholarships are available for
students who qualify for free/reduced lunch. Forms are available in the office.

Come cheer on our sport teams!! We encourage
parents to come with students and cheer on our teams at each of our sporting
events. For students without a
guardian present in the stands, the guardian must pick up the student by 8 pm
for each home and away game for all sports. Students attending the game as a
spectator should make clear arrangements to have a ride at the designated
pick-up time of 8 pm PRIOR to attending the game. Students picked up
later than the expected pick-up time or with no pick-up ride in the stands by 8
pm could forfeit the privilege of attending future athletic activities as a
spectator. If the game is not over at the 8 pm pick-up time, the driver/pick-up
ride can enter the game for FREE for the remainder of the game to sit with the
student in the stands and cheer our teams to victory.
12.
Walking
home from school using Battlefield Rd? Students walking home
from school toward Battlefield Rd will be dismissed from school after car riders have been picked up
from the car line at approximately 2:55 pm. Students walking home using the
trail can leave at 2:45 pm.

CELL PHONE POLICY FOR CARVER: Students can
use cell phones in green zones during the day. A green zone is between classes
(students using a cell phone are not excused for being late to class for using
a cell phone and will receive a tardy consequence), during lunch, before school
until 8 am, and after school ends at 2:45 pm. Carver is not responsible for
lost or stolen cell phones or cases. The restroom and bathrooms are red zones.
No phone use in the restroom or locker rooms. Classrooms are also red zones for
phones unless the teacher has specifically allowed cell phone use in the
syllabus. Please contact the teacher if you have questions about cell phone use
in the classroom. Please make sure your student with a cell phone understands
the cell phone policy if you send a cell phone with them to school. If an
emergency arises during the day, please contact the office (417-523-6800), and
a message can be relayed to your student. Thank you for helping us navigate
student cell phone use during the learning time at school.
