Springfield voters will be asked April 2 to
consider a $168 million bond proposal to fund 39 high-priority projects, which
were recommended by a citizen’s task force to make our schools safer and
stronger for students and staff. The projects will renovate or reconstruct 6
schools, create safer entrances at 31 schools, plus add classroom space to
expand preschool. If approved, the entrance at Carver will be remodeled to
increase security with double-entry points and a series of intercoms, cameras,
and electronic locking controls. Click

Student spectators attending home or away basketball
games without a guardian
present during games must be picked up
or have pick-up rides in the stands by 8:00 pm for each home and
away event. Students attending the game as a spectator should make clear
arrangements to have a ride at the designated pick-up time PRIOR to attending
the game. Students picked up later than the expected pick-up time or with no
pick-up ride in the stands by 8 pm could forfeit the privilege of attending
future athletic activities as a spectator. If the game is not over at the 8 pm
pick-up time, the driver/pick-up ride can enter the game for FREE for the
remainder of the game to sit with the student in the stands.
