Carver Announcements for Sept 4, 2018

Hello Carver Families!

This email is intended to keep parents updated on reminders, upcoming activities, and announcements during the school year. Be sure to check Carver's webpage for updated daily announcements.

1.        Fall sport game days start this week! We encourage all our parents and students to attend games to cheer for the Cougars!

2.        Student spectators attending home or away games without a guardian present during games must be picked up or have pick-up rides in the stands by 8:00 pm for each home and away event. Students attending the game as a spectator should make clear arrangements to have a ride at the designated pick-up time PRIOR to attending the game. Students picked up later than the expected pick-up time or with no pick-up ride in the stands by 8 pm could forfeit the privilege of attending future athletic activities as a spectator. If the game is not over at the 8 pm pick-up time, the driver/pick-up ride can enter the game for FREE for the remainder of the game to sit with the student in the stands.

3.        Carver PTSA will host the first meeting this school year at Carver in the library on Thursday, Sept 13, from 4 pm – 5 pm. If you would like to participate in Superintendent’s Open Parent Forum, please let PTSA or the office know. The meetings are once per quarter from 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm. 4.        Check out this flyer for information to participate in SPARC Game Days before home games.

5.        Utility work will begin near the cell tower located in Carver’s bus lot to replace transmission lines for fiber optics in mid-September. The work is expected to take several days and should not impede traffic in the Carver car or bus lanes. Prior to beginning the work to replace the lines, guard structures and netting will be installed to ensure safety during the work.

6.        Need after school care for your student or just want to avoid the afternoon carline? Sign up for Y-teens after school care at 862-7456 or at the Ward or Jones YMCA buildings. Y-teens is available from 2:45 pm – 6:30 pm each school day.

7.        Flu clinic is coming to Carver on November 7. Please contact Nurse Nancy Sadler, at 523-6830, for more information.
