Carver Announcements for Nov 27

Hello Carver Families!

We hope you had a great break and weekend. This email is intended to keep parents updated on reminders, upcoming activities, and announcements. Be sure to let the office know if you change your email address. Be sure to check Carver's webpage for updated daily announcements.

1.        Carver’s winter dance is Friday, December 1. Students planning to attend must have a signed permission form and $5.00 in order to attend the dance—permission forms were handed out today. Students not meeting the guidelines for behaviors and citizenship will not be eligible to attend the dance. Please refer to your child’s permission slip for details or have your child ask in the office about questions on eligibility.

2.        Mid-Quarter is here! Mid-quarter progress reports are available. Please be sure to check mid-quarter grades online this week as Carver has gone paperless with mid-quarter progress reports and grade cards. Call or email would like a printed copy. To access mid-quarter progress reports, use the directions below:
·       Log on to the home access district website:
https://homeaccess.sps.org/homeaccess/
·       Enter your user ID and case sensitive password. If you do not remember your password, please obtain a handout with your home access password from school.
·       If you have not logged in before, you will be asked to create two security challenge questions before proceeding. Please create the questions and supply the answers.
·       Click the IPR GRADES at the top, center of the page.
·       Click on Report Card or Progress Report.

3.        Please join Carver PTSA! Carver PTSA will host an annual potluck for the December meeting for PTSA members in the cafĂ© on December 11 at 6:15 pm! If you need more information, please contact PTSA via email at CarverPTSA@outlook.com or on facebook at Carver PTSA.

4.        Basketball season has started! Games start at 5:30 pm. If your middle school student plans to attend without you to supervise them during the game, they must have a ride at Carver by 8 pm. If the game runs late, the ride may come in at 8 pm and sit in the stands for free. Elementary students are expected to have an adult with them at all Carver games. SPARC offers a game day pass with tutoring, face-painting, and food on game days for students from 2:45 pm until the start of the game. Contact Erin Boschen at 874-2410 or eboschen@springfieldmo.gov or see the Carver announcements on the webpage for more information.

5.        Carver students are collecting gently used books to donate to elementary students in need of books. If you have books you are willing to donate, please send them with your child to the office.

6.        Carver students have the opportunity to visit Washington, D.C. during spring break through WorldStride Discoveries Organization. For more information, email David Rice at djrice@spsmail.org.

7.        Recognizing your child’s teacher or SPS employee is easy! Click on the link here  or find the form on the SPS website!

Have a great week!

Dr. Dana Powers

Carver Principal
