Parent Announcements for October 1, 2017
Hello Carver Families!
We hope you had a great weekend. This email is intended to keep parents updated on reminders, upcoming activities, and announcements. Be sure to let the office know if you change your email address.
1. Mid-quarter reports were posted Sept 15 online at Home Access. Be sure to check grades online as Carver has gone paperless with mid-quarter reports and grade cards. Grade cards will be accessible when the quarter ends October 13. To access mid-quarter reports, use the directions below:
· Enter your user ID and case sensitive password. If you do not know
your user ID or remember your password, please obtain a handout with your home
access ID and password from school. This is the same user ID and password used
to update demographics during schedule pick-up in August.
· If you have not logged in before, you will be asked to create two
security challenge questions before proceeding. Please create the questions and
supply the answers.
· Click the GRADES icon at the top, center of the page.
· Click on the IPR (Interim Progress Report) tab located on the left
side of the page.
2. Please join Carver PTSA! All parents are welcome to join our next meeting in the library at Carver on Oct. 9th at 6:15 pm. If you need more information, please contact PTSA via email at CarverPTSA@outlook.com or on facebook at Carver PTSA.
3. No school on October 16. SPARC is offering a program designed for middle school students if you need care for your student. Contact Tasia Kinney at 874-2412 or at tkinney@springfieldmo.gov or click here for more information.
4. Carver school picture day is October 19 at 8 am! Packets and information will come home soon. Picture retakes will be November 30.
5. Communication
between school and home is important for your child’s educational success. We
encourage you to come in for a parent conference. Please contact one of your
child’s teachers to schedule a conference!
6. As
part of the IGNiTE teaching and learning initiative, the school district
partnered with BrightBytes, an educational research and analytics organization to
help the district learn more about technology use for student learning. All are
encouraged to participate in a brief electronic survey (approximately 15
minutes) by clicking here. The survey will
be open through October 13.
7. Carver students have the opportunity to visit Washington, D.C.
during spring break through WorldStride Discoveries Organization. For more
information, email David Rice at djrice@spsmail.org.
8. Recognizing your
child’s teacher or SPS employee is easy! Click on the link here or find the form on the SPS website!
9. Flu Clinic is coming
to Carver on November 8 at 8:30 am. Please contact Nurse Sadler for more
information. Consent forms will be distributed closer to the clinic date.
Have a great day!
Dr. Dana Powers
Carver Principal
